Congratulations to the winners of the Geosource Energy Earth Powered Solutions Financial Award, Kyle Bolton & Delsin Aventus! This award is provided by Geosource Energy Inc. and is provided to students enrolled in a program related to sustainability & renewable energy.

Through BOLT’s partnerships with Geosource Energy Inc, the Pinball Clemons Foundation, and Toronto Community Housing, an additional 14 scholarships were awarded to students studying construction-related programs for a combined 43 scholarships totaling $253,250 for the 2025/2026 academic year.

This year’s recipients share the impact this award will have on their lives and how it will help them achieve their academic and career goals:

“I am so grateful to be the recipient of 2025/2026 BOLT Financial Award. I have wanted to be a powerline technician since I was in grade 8 and I was so happy last year when I found out that I got into the program. Now that I am finished the first year and heading into the second, I am even more excited to know that with one year in school left, I’m getting closer to being able to work as a power line technician. There are so many stressors and barriers to being successful in a post secondary program and finances are just one of those things. Getting this scholarship relieves a lot of stress for me, allowing me to focus on my schooling and doing well in the program. In the first year, I was so happy that I had chosen this program and I found it really exciting to learn how to complete the tasks needed for being a powerline technician. In the program, I have been able to get a lot of hands-on experience like climbing and wiring the polls at the local Hydro plant. I’m one year away from getting to really work in this trade. I am extremely grateful for the scholarship and for your help in making it possible for me to achieve success in this program. ” – Benjamin D.

The recipients of the BOLT Financial Award can use their awards to cover the cost of tuition, a laptop, textbooks and school materials. Through our network of industry champions, they will also be able to access additional career supports, such as workshops, job shadowing and mentorship opportunities, co-op and summer placements.
