The ongoing pandemic continues to disproportionally affect young people, limiting internship, summer and part-time work opportunities that would have helped them cover the cost of their post-secondary education and gain experience in the labour force. BOLT’s support is more important than ever to ensure that young people can obtain the post-secondary education they need to go further in their construction careers. I have been experiencing some homelessness now and again throughout the pandemic and this scholarship will not only catapult me but expand what I was able to accomplish last year. The only thing that has kept my head up is school and what it might do for my future and I have been striving to carry on with the momentum.
