Tridel created the BOLT program in 2009 and when BOLT became a charitable organization in 2013, it remained as its principal and founding sponsor.
BOLT’s positive impact to date would not have been possible without Tridel’s leadership and commitment to creating opportunities for youth in construction and skilled trades. As the founding sponsor of BOLT, Tridel has helped countless youth discover their passion. By raising the bar to grow the construction industry with top talent, Tridel has supported young individuals through career exploration opportunities, education and training, employment placements, mentorship and more, so they can realize their full potential.
Through its commitment to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles, Tridel believes in empowering people and communities, integrating this into the foundation of its business. Recognizing that the opportunity to drive meaningful social change is both a responsibility and a privilege, Tridel’s approach focuses on cultivating a supportive workplace that inspires employees, driving economic empowerment in the communities where they build, and enhancing the lives of homeowners. Their efforts include advancing community economic development, promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), advancing Indigenous Reconciliation, and supporting the well-being of employees and residents alike.
Jim Ritchie, President of Tridel Group, said it best, “Being the founding sponsor of the BOLT Foundation goes to the very core of Tridel’s values of family and integrity and building the communities we work in. Everyone deserves the opportunity to succeed. And through BOLT’s programs, we can create employment pathways into construction for youth that may not have otherwise had one.”
To Tridel, doing good is simply good business.
We’d like to recognize the vision of Leo and Sandra DelZotto who made the first steps toward making the BOLT Foundation a reality. They have been active supporters of our mission since 2009.
We’d also like to acknowledge the work of Greg Nevison, former EVP Construction and Peter Meneguzzi, Tridel’s current EVP of Construction. Greg and Peter have dedicated their time and expertise to supporting our programming, connecting youth to real-life, on-the-job experiences and creating countless opportunities for BOLT youth.
Tridel employees have been some of BOLT’s biggest supporters since day one, not only raising funds to support BOLT and its scholarship programs, but also generously giving their time by volunteering at Casino Night and the Golf Tournament, sharing their stories and experiences, hosting our Days of Discovery and Job Shadowing programs, and providing mentorship opportunities to youth starting their careers through co-op programs or internships. To each and every employee who has lent a hand over the years, THANK YOU!
Beyond its enthusiastic support of BOLT’s programming, Tridel also helps cover administrative and operational costs, ensuring that additional funds raised can go directly toward benefiting youth through our initiatives.
The BOLT Foundation is honoured to continue our work with Tridel and looks forward to a long future of creating opportunities by helping develop the young talent of tomorrow.
