BOLT (TRIDEL & PARTNERS) SCHOLARSHIPS

B.O.L.T. raises funds to provide scholarships for priority youth who wish to pursue a post-secondary program in construction.

B.O.L.T. (Tridel and Partners) scholarships have been established with George Brown College The George Brown College Foundation , Humber College, www.humber.ca/financial-aid/humber-scholarships  and with the Children’s Aid Foundation http://www.cafdn.org/scholarships/ .
George Brown College scholarship eligibility:

Must have significant economic disadvantages or adversities

Full time student in one of the designated programs:

  • Architectural Technician
  • Architectural Technology
  • Bachelor of Applied Technology
  • Building Renovation Technician
  • Civil Engineering Technology
  • Construction Engineering Technology
  • Construction Management
  • Construction Trades Techniques
  • Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technician
  • Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technology

Must have attended the Tridel Day of Discovery and completed a 2 week job shadowing experience on a Tridel site or

Must have completed a Job Shadowing experience on a construction site (Minimum 2 weeks) or

Must have completed a high school program related to the trades or

Must have worked in the Construction Industry for a minimum of 3 months

Humber College scholarship eligibility:

Worth $1,670 and available annually to six students entering into one of the following diploma courses:

  • Architectural Technology
  • Cabinet Making
  • Civil Engineering Technology
  • Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technician
  • Sustainable Energy and Building Technology

Successfully completed grade 12 or equivalent and have either:

  • Attended the Day of Discovery and completed a two week job shadowing experience on a construction site or
  • Completed a high school program related to construction or the trades or
  • Worked in the construction industry for a minimum of two months

Applications are to be accompanied with the following supporting documentation:

  • official transcript from final year at secondary school or equivalent
  • one letter of employment reference supporting the applicant’s employment in the construction industry, if applicable
  • an essay of approximately 250 words on “What I have done to overcome obstacles (e.g., financial, other) in pursuit of my educational goals”
